Teachers

Jan Sinner was born in Colorado and raised on a dairy farm east of Greeley. She moved to Oregon after receiving her Bachelor's Degree in Education from the University of Northern Colorado. Jan taught 3rd and 4th graders at Lone Pine Elementary for eight years and has been a preschool teacher at Westminster for over 21 years. She and her husband have three children who were students themselves at Westminster Cooperative and are now young adults. Jan loves teaching, outdoor activities, quilting, music, photography, pets, and is active in her church. Shawn Retzlaff was born and raised in Medford. She has her Bachelor's Degree in Business Education from Oregon State University. She has been a teacher at Westminster Cooperative Preschool for over 19 years. She and her husband have three grown boys who were also students at Westminster. Shawn enjoys spending time with family and friends. In her spare time she loves traveling, hiking, gardening and is an avid sports enthusiast. She is also active in her church.


Julie Ward

Julie Ward




Julie was born in Pittsburgh, PA and spent most of her childhood in Kenya, where her parents served as missionaries.  Her family later moved near Colorado Springs, CO, where Julie attended high school. She received a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Whitworth College and a Master's degree in Marriage, Family and Child Counseling from Chapman University.  Julie married her college sweetheart and moved to Medford with him when he became an associate pastor at Westminster in 2003.  She is actively involved in a number of ministries in the church.  In those sparse moments of spare time, Julie loves being with animals, birdwatching, gardening and reading.

Preschool classrooms are located in the education wing of Westminster Presbyterian Church, 2000 Oakwood Dr. The classrooms are large, open and well furnished. Preschool hours are 9:00—11:30 AM.
